About the artist:

Brian was born in Blackwell Worcestershire and has lived most of his life in and around the Birmingham area, an presently in Castle Bromwich. He started painting about 7 years ago. His interest in watercolours started after seeing work by David Cox, Peter De Wint, Thomas Girtin & Edawrd Seago.

He admires also the works of present painters, David Curtis, Trevor Chamberlin, & Joseph Zbukvic an Australian painter.
Bian is largely self taught, but joined the art class of Doris Harrison , a pst President of the Suttion Coldfield Society of Artists. His work focuses mainly on Landscapes & Seascapes.

Looking through his work he observes how much water is a featur, which shows his love of the coast and all things boating. He gathers subject matter travelling the British Coast & Countryside in his Campervan accompanied by his wife and his Yorkie Rupert. He enjoys sketching in the open air to get the correct tonal values.

He is a member of the 610 Art Group that he started and also joined and also joined the Stton Coldfield Society of Artists 4 years ago. He is delighted to have been elected recently to join the Birmingham Watercolour Society, which has 70 members worldwide.
