About the artist:
Caroline studied for an M.A degree in Graphic design at De-Montford University Leicester.
This led to teaching illustration at degree level and illustration and design for publishing and advertising, including fine art print and greeting card companies.
She enjoys nature & depicting rural subjects from life, with water-colour her prefered medium as it is sympathetic to the British climate’s subtleties of light and colour. Pen and ink, pencil with wash are also used for sketching.
These images became the beginning of a small greeting card and print business which she first displayed at agricultural and country shows.
Subsequently her greeting cards and prints are sold to retail outlets. She has also accepted private commissions.
She admires numerous artists including Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, Rembrandt, Matisse, Whistler, Paula Rego, Bonnington, Berthe Morisot, Arther Rackham, Carl Larsson, John Piper and Helen Allingham.
Other personal influences have been the practices of meditation and yoga, both of which she teaches.
