About the artist:

Rolf  lives on the Cadbury Bournville Village Trust, South Birmingham.

He trained as a primary teacher specialising in art and have been teaching most of his working life. Having retired from full time education through ill health, He  began to paint with watercolours, being inspired by the late John Blockley, and more recently by his daughter, Ann Blockley. He also enjoys painting with acrylics, being inspired by John Hammond.

He  has painted many murals in schools within Birmingham, enjoying producing large paintings without the need to undertake initial drawings.

His  watercolours are based on photographs he has taken and he enjoys achieving realistic renditions of boats, animals and trees in particular.

He is a member of the Warwickshire Watercolour Society and Bridport Art Society, where he has won many awards.
